WebNov 30, 2024 · Re: Highest round count pistols, lets see em I guess i am on the low end of things with my two kimbers...my Pro carry II has almost 7k down the tube with a total of 7 failures, 6 on the same day due to a recoil spring issue, and the 7th at about the 1000 round mark due to a poorly sized case not chambering.
WebDec 6, 2016 · I have several 1911s, two are alloy framed. Neither has seen a round count over 1200. They both show little wear on the frame. All of my heavy use 1911s are steel, and I like it that way. Are you just trying to beat a gun to death? The steel guns are much easier to shoot with the extra weight. However, if that maintenance is performed, a properly setup 1911/2011 such as the Staccato P can run really well.
