WebSep 10, 2024 · On 17 August 2024, the Chinese central government released the long-awaited Regulations on Critical Information Infrastructure ( CII) Security Protection ( CII Regulation ), which took effect on 1 September 2024. In this article, we highlight the key provisions of the CII Regulation and set out our observations on the regime. Background WebDuring the Doklam conflict, China tried its best to unleash cyber propaganda on India and indulged in complex psychological operations (psy-ops). Critical cyber infrastructure needs to be defended and the establishment of the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) is a good step in this direction.
